**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting to the CFO/CCO/CRO, the Compliance/Risk Manager performs all aspects of Tokio Marine Group compliance and regulatory compliance reporting as required by federal, provincial, and local laws and insurance regulations. Provides advice and guidance to members of the Tokio Marine Canada team to inform them of compliance and regulatory obligations that arise out of the launch of new business or product lines. This role also supports all activities associated with the further development and operation of the Company’s enterprise risk management function.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

Your responsibilities will include:
Relying on broad knowledge and strong leadership skills, the Compliance/Risk Manager is accountable for the following responsibilities:

- Provide analysis and interpretation of regulatory insurance requirements including applicable federal (OSFI) provincial insurance department statutes, regulations, and bulletins to determine impact and adherence to filing and regulatory requirements.
- Keep parent company informed of all compliance issues, policy filings, and assist in the coordination and facilitation of Market Conduct Examinations and Internal/External Audits.
- Ensure all parent company compliance and risk management deliverables are prepared and submitted on a timely basis.
- Support the CCO in manage company complaint process including responses to the General Insurance OmbusService (GIO).
- Provide review for Company Advertising/Marketing efforts to ensure we are not violating any compliance rules such as privacy, anti-spam and others.
- Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance to emerging regulatory compliance issues.
- Assist with preparation/filing of Rate filings and maintain accuracy and completeness of all such Forms/Endorsements.
- Assist Corporate Accounting/Reinsurance with reinsurance reporting including cash calls.
- Ensure provincial insurance licenses are maintained and up to date.
- Update the company’s internal systems with current rates, rules, and forms.
- Participate in the development of company products and services.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure required compliance trainings made available for all staff.
- Work with underwriting and other company departments to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term plans to improve business processes for department.
- Coordinate resources to ensure strategies are executed
- Work with external ERM consultant to prepare for monthly ERM Risk Committee meeting
- Ensure all risk owners are tracking their key risk indicators in a timely manner and that the controls developed to manage each of our top risks are functioning as planned
- Participate in TM group ERM meetings and ensure all group ERM deliverables are provided to their satisfaction
- Manage the review and analyze the effectiveness of our risk management policies and procedures
- Support the implementation and, once complete, oversee the maintenance of our ERM software solution
- Produce quarterly ERM Program reports for the Audit and Risk Committee and Board of Director meetings
