Position: Receptionist
**Job Type**: Temporary Full Time (2-3 months)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (On-Site)
Language Requirements: English
Location: Vaughan, ON
Compensation: $18.00-20.00/hour
Purpose:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical and receptionist duties. Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors. Records and relays messages to appropriate personnel. Provides administrative information to Company personnel and performs miscellaneous support functions as assigned. Maintains highest level of confidentiality. Projects the Company’s professional image.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the effective performance of assigned receptionist and clerical functions.
- Receives and screens telephone calls.
- Answers routine questions or directs them to appropriate personnel. Records and relays messages.
- Performs various tasks including correspondence, approvals, and miscellaneous documents required for account processing.
- Receives, opens, and distributes mail daily if appropriate.
- Monitors admittance to facility assuring admittance for authorized employees and vendors only.
- Acts as point of contact for emergency calls to 9ll.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with clients, vendors, and trade professionals.
- Keeps office kitchen well-stocked and tidy. Oversees inventory and weekly delivery orders.
- Keeps reception area tidy and presentable.
- Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly.
- Maintains the Company's professional reputation.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relations with Company personnel and management. Assists and supports department personnel.
- Coordinates activities with related departments and obtains or conveys information as needed.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent with additional office training preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of business service functions
Experience Required:
- Previous Receptionist/Office Administration experience desired
- Previous multiple line phone experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong typing abilities.
- Excellent phone skills.
- Good communication and public relations skills.
- Ability to stay calm in all circumstances.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Willing to cooperate with and assist others.
- Able to use PC, printer, phones, and basic business equipment
