**SUMMARY**:
Achev is a not for profit, progressive corporation operating from nine locations across the greater Toronto area. We enhance the self sufficiency and effectiveness of diverse individuals and organizations by offering customized employment, language, settlement, youth, and career resource solutions. The Manager Employment Services (ES) will oversee the day-to-day operation and implementation of employment services in Peel.and support Other Regional Locations as required. Reporting to the Senior Director of Employment Services, the Manager will assist the ES Coordinating teams to manage daily operations, motivate teams to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in a result driven fast paced environment. Additionally, the Manager will ensure adherence to all key principles that guide the service delivery model. Duties will include ensuring that service quality is maintained, activities are conducted appropriately, performance targets and KPI’s are achieved, and performance measurement and management practices are effective.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- As part of the ES Management team, effectively manage the budgets, operations and contractual parameters of the Employment Services and related programs for 4 Peel sites and support other Regional locations as required
- Manage ongoing development, evaluation and continuous improvement of the ES model ensuring that each project site’s procedures, processes and performance commitments, funding, outcomes and program expenditures comply with performance measurements
- Participate in development of response, adaptation and implementation of integrated service model and other operational changes as required
- Directly supervise ES Coordinators while providing leadership to Achev Employment Services and related teams
- Actively participate and demonstrate leadership as part of Achev’s General Management Team
- Provide management, coaching and leadership to ensure ongoing and effective communication among staff, community partners and stakeholders
- Oversee, in conjunction with ES Coordinators, all aspects of staff management, diverse hiring, training, performance and engagement
- Participate in yearly business plan development, preparation of detailed reports, cashflow reconciliation, expenditure reports and other compliance reports as required
- Develop and report on budgets, monitor expenses, and resolve financial issues through liaison with coordinators, finance department and Sr Director
- Travel within Peel, GTA as needed to establish, maintain and act in a leadership capacity to develop partnerships and participate in community activities
- Other related duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Appropriate University Degree or College Diploma
- 3 years previous management/administration experience is essential with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience and/or knowledge of the Employment Services model
- Budget management experience; strong proficiency with Excel
- Proven written and verbal communication and report writing skills for internal and external communications
- Demonstrated strength in leadership, motivating, coaching, problem solving, decision making, hiring and staff and team development
- Ability to work in a face paced environment and manage stressful situations
- Proven ability to implement and meet performance management standards, create procedures and processes for business model improvements and meet outcomes and expectations of funded program agreements
- In-depth knowledge of community/ business services, local networks, local labour market trends, and programs /services that relate to the employment needs of individuals and employers in the GTA and Toronto
- Interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and organizational skills
- Experience administering budgets and financial reporting is essential
