**LOCATION**: Saskatoon

**ACCOUNTABLE TO**: Director of Early Learning and Child Care

**Brief Overview**:Under the direction of the Director of Early Learning and Child Care, the Coordinator is responsible for the Recruitment and Retention of Métis Early Childhood Educators. The successful applicant would have at least 3 years of experience with knowledge of current trends, practices, and challenges facing Early Childhood Educators.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop a recruitment and retention strategic plan for Métis Early Childhood Educators.
- Implement and coordinate recruitment and retention initiatives and strategies.
- Build strong partnerships with the province's Early Learning and Childcare providers.
- Maintain partnerships with provincial contacts, childcare centers, and ECE service providers.
- Work collaboratively with MN-S staff, MN-S Citizens, and other partners, as required.
- Support the employment of Métis Early Childhood Educators in Métis Early Learning Centers throughout the province.
- As an Early Learning and Child Care team member, develop and set strategic goals and objectives in coordination with the Early Learning and Child Care strategic plan.
- Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Contribute to budget programming and analysis.
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director of Early Learning and Child Care.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Experience in Early Childhood Education, childcare licensing, ministry documents, and policies involving Early Childhood Education.
- Knowledge of Métis culture and experience working with Métis people would be an asset.
- Well-developed administrative, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations and take appropriate action.
- Resiliency in dealing with changing schedules, timelines, and financial priorities.
- Adaptive to environmental or governmental priority shifts
- Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of program administration, budgeting/financial management, program planning, and coordinating.
- A high degree of technology literacy and proficiency in keyboarding, Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, and various databases.
- Advanced communications skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills.
- The ability to travel, at times in a rental vehicle, may be required.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
- The ability to develop and employ data collection methods.

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor’s degree in education is preferred.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 3 required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as an Early Childcare Educator in a childcare Centre.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.

- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
