**Your Role**:
The Global Relay Bistro team is looking for a Lounge Assistant is to assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with any lounge maintenance, food preparation, and cleaning stations/dishwashing in our Gastown office space.

**Your Job**:
Administration / Inventory
- Organize food & beverage vendor deliveries in storage
- Manage and update GR Bistro menu: Wiki page, Bistro app and printed menu
- Assist Chef with any end of month purchase reconciliation for Accounting department
- Assist Chef to generate a system to upload existing and new menu recipes as reference for team
- Assist Chef with inventory including both food and beverage items
- Assist team while Chef is away with ordering both food and beverage items
- Stocking of coffee station including cups, lids, condiments, coffee etc. on all satellite kitchens

Cleaning / Maintenance
- Clean coffee machines and get ready for morning service on all floors
- Assist with post‐breakfast and lunch service cleanup including seating areas, plates, cutlery, dishwashing etc.
- Assist with satellite kitchen clean up and maintenance
- Provide assistance to Chef with any lounge equipment service & maintenance requests
- Assist culinary team with any lounge maintenance, food preparation and cleaning stations/dishwashing, cleaning of front of house equipment such as beer taps, all coolers, ice machines etc.
- Assist the Building Maintenance Specialist with any upkeep of Rooftop patio and other lounge related issues

Execution of Menu
- Print prep lists for each station for the kitchen team
- Continental breakfast setup: Cereal, fruits, yogurt and grab‐and‐go stocking
- Ensure plates and cutlery are ready for breakfast service
- Help with any last minute requests from breakfast team
- Assist Culinary team with lunch service plating
- Take responsibility of implementation of china and cutlery. This will include setup and access of china and cutlery, logistics of dirty china/cutlery to dish area and also running everything through the dishwasher

Specialized Duties and responsibilities:

- Assist chef with any lounge event requests:

- Lunch & Learn events, HR New Hire events, Theme Nights, Culture Club events, etc.
- Any client or executive visits and meetings
- Organize and coordinate GR corporate events:

- GRGGP VIP lounge & rooftop area, Summer BBQ
- Manage office lunch meeting requests: order pizza, deliver and serve catering meetings and events

**About You**:

- Self-motivated and passionate about hospitality and food service
- Working experience in customer service
- Experience working in a fast paced and high pressure environment
- Strong multitasking abilities and ability to meet daily deadlines
- Serving it right certificate or willing to acquire
- Food Safe Course

**Working conditions**:

- Has the potential to be hazardous working with cleaning materials, hot liquids and sharp objects.
- Must share space with general staff in a safe and responsible manner. Fast paced and high stress environment. Must meet deadlines daily.
- General working hours are 7am - 3pm with potential for varying hours of work when required.

**Physical requirements**:
Physically demanding job. Must lift heavy objects. Stand on feet for long periods of time. Walk up and down stairs to access storage and coolers.
