**Purpose**:
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 27,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools, and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham location. The School of Social Work works in partnership with the professional social work community to provide students with the opportunity to complete the field placement degree requirement(s).

Reporting to the Director, Work-Integrated Learning & Career Education, and collaborating closely with the Director of the School of Social Work, the Field Education Manager role oversees the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Field Education Program. The role ensures that the field education program provides a coherent work-integrated learning experience for our diverse students in the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs, balancing practice concerns that arise within the professional community with students' learning goals and professional accreditation requirements. The role develops and maintains effective strategic relationships with a full range of community partners to support the Field Education Program.The role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.

**Education**:
Master's degree in Social Work required.

**Experience**:
Five years of related practice experience in the social service sector and/or working in a complex and large organization in a similar role.
Three years of management experience, including recruitment, mentorship, training, supervision, progressive discipline, in a unionized environment.
Working knowledge of metro community agencies, including ethno-specific and innovative settings.
Experience in working with and/or placing students into social service agencies.

Experience with developing/negotiating community field education placements.
Three or more years of related work experience, including administering/managing field work of students, supervising staff, and coordinating programs, is required.

Knowledge:
MS Office (Word & Excel, at the intermediate level).
Effective use of electronic communications and calendar systems.
Effective with maintaining databases (i.e., MS Access).

Note: Role requires verification of degree(s)/credentials(s)
Normal office working environment.
Travel in the GTA may be required for field education site visits/meetings.
- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
