**JOB SUMMARY**

This position supports carrying out the CNL Land Use Program, decommissioning and demolition improvements initiatives, Chalk River cleanup planning and environmental data management at CNL. The position plans and communicates with internal groups to ensure sound environmental remediation practices, approaches and standards are used in decommissioning and demolition work.

Specific tasks will include analysis and report writing, support to workshops, assessments of CNL sites, collating site information and maintaining program dashboard, improvement action training, development of new processes and updating processes based on self-assessment, user evaluation, and benchmarking.

**DUTIES**

The duties include, but are not limited to:

- Participate in assessments of sites and development of characterization and remediation plans
- Assist as needed in other work within the Facilities Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation branch
- Leverage experience, knowledge and available data to recommend strategies for remediation of affected lands
- Provide support to ensure that plans are in line with the Overview of Decommissioning and Cleanup Plan and applicable standards and regulations

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- At minimum, a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering from a university of recognized standing, or membership in a scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.
- Environmental background is mandatory
- Knowledge of site characterization and remediation is desired
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Minimum of basic computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite, and familiarity with the use of databases.
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Attention to detail for verification of analytical data is required
- Ability to review technical/scientific documents and disseminate information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Time management, organization and prioritization skills are essential
