We are looking for a Waste Characterization Specialist to help us expand our presence across the Nuclear Industry, who will help drive internal project performance, and support to our customers. We seek a professional who will align with our corporate mission, vision & values:

Type of Employment: Contract
Role & Responsibilities:
- Experience in nuclear operations specifically in the areas of Waste Characterization, Environmental remediation, Waste
- Acceptance Criteria, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and related regulations is considered an asset.
- Experience in industrial operations, specifically hoisting and heavy equipment activities
- Ability/desire to perform field activities in all environmental conditions.
- Strong communications skills to influence and educate various audiences including operations staff of various backgrounds,
- clients, supply chain vendors, peers/colleagues, and management.
- The Characterization Specialist is a subject matter expert to branch operations and activities to ensure we deliver the scopes of work we are contracted to do by customers. He/she will need to utilize strong operations/technical and communication skills
- with a balanced appreciation of our business demands to play a key role on the WMO team to deliver success.
- Knowledge of Waste Management principles and practices, characterizations approaches and implementation techniques.
- Knowledge of Radiation Protection Principles, measurements and contamination control and how to apply these to daily work activities. A minimum of Group 3 certification is required.
- A strong working knowledge of ERM operations, processes, and procedure
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Honours Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing or, membership in an Engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.
- Background in mathematics (statistics), chemistry, or physics would be considered an asset
