The Manager, Intellectual Property & Contracts Compliance is responsible for the monitoring of compliance to non-technical contractual requirements, with specific focus on intellectual property management. Leading a team of specialists, the Manager, Contracts Compliance plays a pivotal role in the development and management of processes requiring close interaction between multiple stakeholders from Program Management Offices, Legal, Supply Chain Management and Operations teams.
**What you’ll do**
- Lead a team of specialists affected to non-technical contracts compliance management
- Development and implementation of intellectual property management processes, procedures, training and reporting to ensure compliance with prime contract and subcontract requirements and minimize exposure to potential infringement claims;
- Development and implementation of intellectual property remediation plans on in-flight contracts;
- Support subcontract negotiation with multi-disciplinary governance team and extraction of approval by Canada of IP-related contractual deviations;
- Development and implementation of contractual compliance management processes, procedures, training and reporting to ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and minimize exposure to contractual and regulatory non-compliance;
- Weekly reportingon progress - works achieved,information requested and outstanding issues impacting delivery,resource tracking - utilized versus planned, management of internal budget;
- Support VP Commercial presentations to Shipyard Management teams regarding matters of importance to operations and budget controls;
- Other dutiesas assigned.
**What you’ll bring**
- University degree in Law, Business or Engineering required
- 10 years experience dealing with contractual / regulatory compliance monitoring, intellectual property markings & licenses
- Prior experience in complex design & build delivery organizations
- Highly effective leadership skills including development of individuals, team effectiveness and communication skills.
- Broad project experience preferably in shipbuilding industry
- Extensive work with design-build contractors with demonstrable experience including
- Strong contract/commercial knowledge - all major forms of contract and bespoke agreements
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills including written, listening and presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize work and to problem solve in an inclusive manner with internal colleagues and external parties.
- Exercise sound business judgement and decision making skills in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- Strong business acumen and negotiating skills
- Strong customer service orientation and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively with limited direction and function as a key team member.
- Intermediate level computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project).
