**Finance and Accounts Manager**

The Intellectual Disability Society (IDS) is searching for a Finance and Accounts Enthusiast to lead its Finance Department. IDS is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help individuals with intellectual disabilities develop the skills necessary for independence and active involvement in our community.

**What will you do?**
- **Finance**_
- Timely monthly financial reporting
- Cash flow management including investment and financing as needed
- Contract oversight and support the maximization of contract income
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage over the operations and assets of the Association
- Prepare and maintain annual operating and monthly cash flow budgets
- Maintain files of all relevant financial information
- Monitor investment performances

**Accounting**
- Oversite of the Support Services Team & QVHS Staff
- Prepare annual budget
- Ensure timely accurate month-end financial statements
- Ensure revenue billings are sent and collected on a timely basis
- Ensure Accounts Payable are paid by due date
- Ensure that all government reports and filings are completed ahead of time
- Charity Information Return T3010
- CAP Reports
- PST monthly claims
- GST quarterly claims
- BCHMC rent subsidy budgets
- BCHMC / CMHC Annual Project Data Reports
- Municipality property tax exemption notices
- Produce the financial reports for the IDS Annual Report
- Act as liaison between finance committee and auditors
- Ensure that the year-end audits are carried out efficiently and promptly
- Ensure all government contracts are completely and accurately reflected in the accounting records
- Monitor and Maintain files of all government contracts
- Assist with government audits of the agencies
- Monitor asset sheets including maintenance budget with related reporting
- **Payroll Related**_
- Ensure proper and accurate administration of the group benefits plans
- Oversee the benefit plans when brought inhouse
- Ensure all regulatory filings are filed (Payroll Manager completes)
- WCB quarterly and annual filings
- RCT pay period remittances
- T4 / T4A annual filings
- **Other**_
- Advise the Executive Director on all accounting, financial, payroll and administration matters or issues
- Review and monitor internal controls in the above areas
- Assist management with budget reviews
- respect each individual’s right to privacy and confidentiality
- perform other related duties as required

**EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE**
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
- 3-5 years of progressive experience with increased responsibility for financial planning and control, administrative management, collective bargaining, systems development, and purchasing management, preferably in the community social services sector
- A demonstrated and in-depth working knowledge of non-profit community-based programs and services, applicable legislation and policies, issues surrounding assigned community relations, and area operations

**JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Knowledge of computer databases, spreadsheets, accounting, and word-processing software
- Familiarity with payroll systems
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent work ethic with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong planning, organizing, and administrative skills
- Works well in a team leadership approach

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

- reliable vehicle and valid BC driver’s license (class 5)
- successful completion of IDS orientation

**Salary**: $95,000.00-$110,506.75 per year
