**Child & Youth Worker Assistant**

**About The Agency**

**About the Role**
- The Jerome D. Diamond (JDD) Adolescent Centre, a branch of Jewish Family and Child Service is looking for a
**Child & Youth Worker Assistant **to assist in providing direct services, within an effective treatment program, to adolescents during the school year. The JDD Adolescent Centre is a children’s mental health centre that provides support to youth with educational, emotional and/or behavioural challenges.
** **This position is also responsible for administrative supports and coordination to ensure the day-to-day operation of the JDD Centre.

**Responsibilities***:

- Assists the CYW(s) in supporting the academic instruction of special needs students, including providing treatment (care, coaching and counselling) to youth on a daily basis.
- Collaborates with CYW(s) in the development, implementation, reviewing, and monitoring of treatment plans for youth in conjunction with their family and JDD team.
- Follows up on any attendance issues this includes tracking down and recording absence in accordance with TDSB’s Safe School Policy.
- Assists in the planning and participates in activity/recreation based programing and physical education such as yoga, art therapy, cooking, CBT etc. This includes all aspects of planning for the program such as prepping and shopping for supplies for the programming.
- Assists the CYW(s) in completing case reports, daily logs and other related documentation.
- Maintains accurate and timely client related documentation for internal and external record keeping in accordance with professional standards, the Agency and Day Treatment Policy.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the JDD’s programs, CYW’s and teachers, such as coordinating meetings, writing minutes, ordering office supplies, and general administrative duties.
- Prepares various JDD related documentation such as information packages, admission documentation, back to school packages, holiday lists, etc.
- Ensures the health and safety of all staff and student by adopting and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications***:

- CYW or equivalent post-secondary diploma/degree
- CYW experience in a Day Treatment Program would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of community needs and resources
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and within with Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Excel and Word), databases, and client databases.
