**Position: Team Lead - Nights Awake**
**Programs: Amethyst House and Pathways to Housing**
**Reports to: Program Supervisor**
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)-Central Alberta is a Not for Profit organization with over 50 years of experience helping vulnerable people in our community. We are a growing organization focused on forward thinking, community building, and changing the conversation around mental health.
Amethyst House and Pathways to Housing are unique, dynamic, fast paced, complex, intense, fun, and exceptionally rewarding work environments. Team Leads are organized, able to multi-task, remain calm and professional in challenging situations, and approach his/her work, peers, and program participants with an attitude of good intent, respect, humour, quick thinking, confidence, forgiveness, and persistence. As part of a dedicated staff team, the Team Lead will embrace the philosophy and practices of Housing First, Harm Reduction, resilience and recovery, and Person Centred approaches.
Team Leads will continue in their current Front Line Tenant Support Worker positions, with some modifications to their work load. There is ONE Team Lead for Case Managers, ONE Team Lead for Nights and ONE Team Lead responsible for Evenings. Casual staff will be evenly dispersed between all three Team Leads.
The scope of work and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Scheduling for your team; ensure schedules are accurate and complete for Program Supervisor's final approval.
- Approve timesheets and time off for your team members; ensure timesheets are submitted to the Program Supervisor for final approval.
- Provide timely communication to Program Supervisor about any staffing situations.
- Meet regularly with team members to touch base and provide encouragement, guidance and support.
- Ensure documentation for these meetings is accurate and complete.
- Monthly reporting.
- Provide “in-the-moment” support, mentoring and de-briefing to team members, as needed.
- Provide regular updates to the Program Supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Supervisor to professionally manage any conflict or navigate complex staffing situations.
- Bi-monthly meetings with other Team Leads and Program Supervisor.
- Participation in staff meetings, shift huddles and on-going trainings.
Desired qualifications and skills include:
- A minimum of a Diploma of Social Work, or equivalent in a similar Human Services field.
- Patience, positivity, creativity and flexibility.
- A high degree of professionalism at all times.
- Strong belief in and practice of Person Centred service.
- Ability to work independently in a non-structured environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Team Leads will earn a $2.00 per hour increment. Work duties are expected to fall mostly within the Team Lead’s regular schedule.
