Overview:
Bornn Bookkeeping is searching for a new colleague to join our unique and casual environment. We are seeking a Bookkeeper Team Lead/Senior Bookkeeper to support our growing business and report directly to the Owner.
The Bookkeeping Team Lead/Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for supporting our bookkeeping team (working both in-house and remotely) and supporting the day-to-day operations of our company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.
Any previous accounting experience would be a bonus.
We are a QuickBooks focused office so previous experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online would be beneficial however training can be provided.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide guidance and support to our bookkeeping team, fostering a positive work environment
- Support business growth through new client engagements, disengagements and general customer service
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Complete scheduled reviews of client's books for accuracy, prepare for government filings and submit to offsite accountants for completion
- Ability to answer questions about asset, liability and equity accounts for bookkeeping team and clients
- Review client Canada Revenue Agency activity to reconcile accounts and take agent phone calls/questions
- Review deadlines and allocate tasks appropriately
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for bookkeeping team
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing changes as necessary
**Requirements**:
- Significant experience with full-cycle bookkeeping with strong knowledge of current Canadian accounting principles and practices
- Relevant certifications/accreditations are a bonus
- Proven experience in leading a team
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- In good standing with the Canada Revenue Agency for CRA Rep ID
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Starting wage is listed but may be negotiable.
Health benefits are available after 3 months.
We do have an office dog on site.
**Salary**: $27.00-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
