The House of Commons’ Digital Media and Connected Systems team is currently looking to staff the Manager, MMS Broadcast & Audio
- Visual Provisioning position.
The Digital Media team coordinates the broadcast and webcast operations for parliamentary settings, handling audio and video production for the Senate, House of Commons, and special events.
As one of two managers your role will entail leading a team of highly trained professional and overseeing the operations and logistics of all events requiring digital media on the Hill. This position is responsible for managing television production, coordinating with Members of Parliament and various service providers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality broadcast and audiovisual services. The Manager also oversees technical support and equipment provisioning, ensuring that all multimedia services operate smoothly and that any issues are addressed promptly. The role involves strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to deliver top-tier multimedia services in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work under constant pressure. The Manager must be able to manage multiple tasks, delegating effectively, and handling competing priorities. Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization are essential. Additionally, the role demands exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with superior oral and written communication abilities. These competencies ensure the Manager can lead their team effectively while delivering high-quality multimedia services in a fast-paced environment.
As part of this position, you must be willing to work onsite up to five days a week. The team you support works onsite including weekends, shift work, early morning, daytime, and late evening shifts, and potentially be on call/overtime on short notice. As a result, you may be required to work on short notice to support the team during their working hours.

**Qualifications** Education**:
- Degree from a University, or a College diploma in broadcasting, IT or business OR an acceptable equivalent education, training, and experience.
**Experience**:
- Significant experience leading diverse teams of professionals with empathy, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture (the experience must include performance management, scheduling and handling diverse human resources related situations);
- Experience in planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and logistics for services delivery;
- Experience in strategic and business planning, including creating work plans, business cases, financial/resource estimates, and managing specialized technical staff;
- Experience in negotiating client agreements providing technical advice on service delivery;
- Experience in program, project, change, risk, release, and performance management;
- Experience in managing financial and material resources.
**Assets**:
- Experience in developing and managing a professional multimedia program that includes live and recorded broadcasting, videoconferencing, web streaming, and other audio-visual productions;
- Experience in directing specialists such as TV Directors, technicians, and other technical personnel;
- Experience in managing technical support for multimedia issues, as well as provisioning programs and technology inventories;
- Experience leading a unionized team.
