Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer/Architect for Media Network Operations

We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Senior Broadcast Systems Engineer/Architect to join our technical operations and engineering team at CPAC (Cable Public Affairs Channel / Chaîne d'affaires publiques par câble), located in downtown Ottawa.
About the Role:
- This is a full-time permanent position with competitive benefits, offering a salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum based on experience.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, monitoring, sustaining, and supporting broadcast technology that employs a broad variety of hardware, software, applications, and operating systems.
- Key responsibilities include project management, technical documentation, and end-user support, as well as working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of broadcast systems.
- A strong understanding of M&E technical systems, network topology design, advanced routing expertise, multicast routing specialization, and automation and orchestration using tools like Ansible is required.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring, managing, and supporting network switch infrastructure in a live media production environment, familiarity with broadcast standard video formats, and experience with streaming media network protocols.
- Familiarity with Arista CloudVision and Arista Media Control Service (MCS) is an asset.
- The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A high level of physical stamina is required, including working in office, equipment room/data center environments, and remote production locations, as well as occasional travel and on-call after-hours support.
