Summary

The Territory Sales Manager, (TM), under the direction of the Branch Manager, or Director of Sales is responsible for selling CE products through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas. He or she will provide high level customer service to clients and potential customers. The TM will reach his or her business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites. This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, and inperson presentational skills are essential for this role. In keeping with CE's philosophy of Honest, Humble, Hungry every staff member takes responsibility for their duties and is willing to pitch in and help in any area of branch operations as necessary.

Duties

Primary:

- Conduct a minimum of two (2) sales presentations per day by physical visits to customer locations. All face to face meetings must be conducted in accordance with the physical distancing and personal hygiene recommendations of the Provincial Health Officer.
- Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/service(s) while on-site.
- Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin the sales process.
- Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
- Collaborate with Branch Manager and the Director of Sales to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
- Overcome objections of prospective customers.
- Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
- Ensure follow-up, by passing leads to Account Managers, with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on.
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
- Utilize marketing data via applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records; including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
- Make front-line assessment of market conditions and advise company Account Managers and marketing staff of findings.
- Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research.
- Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
- Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues.
- Attend Sales meetings either via a virtual platform or at the Branch location a minimum of once per month or more often as required. Your territory of focus will be set by your manager.
- Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position.
- Respond to customer service calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Contact customers by phone to share information and opportunities, including pre-selling of scheduled delivery routes.
- Handle technical service and troubleshooting questions and/or concerns from customers. Escalate as required to provide customer an answer.
- Manage small, medium or large customer accounts as per management request. Managing an order from initial entry to customer pick up or delivery. This includes order-taking, order-entry, ordering and/or transfer of required customer product, order fulfillment, order dispatch, and dealing with and/or escalating any issues as required
- Any other duties as assigned.

Secondary:
Maintain system entries in Company ERP system (sales order entry, receiving, returns/credit memos, other entries as required)

Ship product to customer locations and prepare associated shipping documentation as required.

Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and work environment as required.

Lift, carry and or move loads up to 50 pounds including automotive and commercial batteries, as required

Operate power and manual lift equipment (i.e. forklifts, electric carts, electric pallet jack, order selector, hand truck, pallet jack, pallet wrapper and push carts). Maintain a valid driver's license in good standing and immediately notify management of any change in its status.

Follow all safety rules and applicable laws.

Look for opportunities to pick up scrap batteries (lead cores) for recycling.

Keep company vehicles clean inside and out.

Keep company vehicles fueled according to management instructions/policies and business needs and notify management of needed repairs.

Act as a liaison for our customers, by listening to any feedback or complaints the customer may have and resolve the complaint within the scope of your authority and/or report information to management for resolution.
