Plant LMS Lead

**On-site**:This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
**The Role**
We are looking for you to take on the role of Plant LMS ( Lean Material Strategies) Lead based out of our Oshawa Assembly Plant. As a member of the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team, you will be providing administrative support to the department leadership (VAA), third party service providers, assembly plant, lean logistics provider, Global Purchasing and Platform. Work involves a substantial amount of creativity, perception, and initiative, and requires significant latitude for independent judgment and action. This position will have immediate responsibility for appropriate functions and third-party service providers.
**What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)**
- Drive the Production, VAA ( Value Added Assembler ) and 3rd party service providers business results to meet Departmental / GM objectives.
- Lead and assist in the development of new initiatives, scope of work, and business cases which impact the Production, VAA’s and 3rd party service providers with Global Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, and other departments.
- Implement new material delivery technologies/equipment to support efficiency and safety improvements.
- Monitors Production and VAA and 3rd party service providers compliance to all GM Corporate audit procedures
- Liaise with GM HQ LMS resources.
- Provide updates to plant staff and Program Team as required.
- Special assignments as required.
- Reduce DPPN
- Work with Plant Packaging to increase standard pack density where possible
**Additional Job Description**:
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
- University degree or equivalent experience and education, in a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or project supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and integrity.
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple issues in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Drive to implement change and desire to improve processes.
- Working knowledge using Microsoft Office Apps, SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to work on all shifts.
**What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)**
- Five years of leadership experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Production, Quality or Warehousing & Distribution Operations experience.
- 3rd Party Contract and Negotiation experience.
- Demonstrates a detailed understanding of GMS Principles, and GMS Operating requirements.
