Immigration and Population Growth Branch (IPG) of LSI has a large mandate. We are responsible for attracting, integrating and retaining newcomers to our province. **About Our Opportunity**:
As the Manager of Policy, you will be responsible for broad policy analysis with a focus on the Immigration and Population Growth (IPG) Branch's overall mandate. This position plays a critical role for the Policy and Planning Division.

You will be responsible for working with a team including a Corporate Strategist, a correspondence clerk, and an administrative/reception clerk to support manage the Branch's overall correspondence, ensure front facing services are available to clients, and provide sound thoughtful and effective policy advice on a wide range of issues related to immigration and population growth. You will provide support the department’s preparations for the House of Assembly, participate on various departmental and interdepartmental strategic initiatives, lead IPG's research agenda, and support the department's senior leadership team on federal/provincial-territorial meetings and working groups. This may include leading FPT working groups and/or bilateral negotiations with the federal government.

Given the unique nature of this role, you will be in contact with a wide variety of individuals and groups, including stakeholder organizations and daily contact with members of the Executive Leadership team. The Manager frequently responds to issues raised by the Minister, Deputy Minister and Associate Deputy Minister and may provide briefings on key issues.

As the Manager of Policy, you will report to the Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a Bachelors’ degree plus several years of progressive experience in a policy environment, or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.

You have the ability to problem solve and focus on efficiency and quality improvement.

Experience developing submissions to Executive Council and working with self-regulated professions will be considered assets.
