L’Arche Ottawa is seeking an energetic, experienced, compassionate individual to be its Residential Services Coordinator (RSC). The RSC will work closely with the Homes Coordinator and ensure integration of the L’Arche Identity and Mission and Servant Leadership Model in the homes, overseeing high quality support and care for each person with a developmental disability (Core Member). The RSC ensures adherence to Ministry of Community & Social Services (MCCSS) guidelines, L’Arche Ottawa policies and procedures and the role description. The RSC reports directly to the executive Director / Community Leader.

**Location**:
We currently have five L’Arche houses in Ottawa where people with and without disabilities live together. We have a Community Centre located 11 Rossland Ave, Ottawa, ON, where our administration team works. Our community gatherings also take place in our Community Centre.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that House Leaders (HLs) create a welcoming, clean, comfortable, safe, trusting, and unified home environment, and adhere to all policies, guidelines and regulations;
- Nurtures the gifts and growth of everybody under their supervision;
- Leads processes and supervises the establishment of Service Agreements, the legal documents (POA, End of life) in interaction with families;
- Supports the HL-s to identify the core member’s goals, formalize the ISP, and the supports needed to achieve them, including the usage of the Passport Funding. Maintains all the Server files (scanned BSP, PRN, ISP’s,)
- Ensures that the Core Members health needs are met, and quality care is provided, in connection with the Health Care Coordinator;
- Ensure the MCCSS compliance is planned with the HL and the respective coordinators, and standards met throughout the year;
- Contribute to the employees trainings;
- Participates to weekly HL’s and in-House Team meetings and ensures that they are opportunities of sharing and growth for all;
- Works in collaboration with the House Leaders, Homes and Assistants Coordinator to ensure the homes schedules are developed to meet the needs of core member support and community activities;
- Participates and contributes to different workgroups and Committees such as annual reviews, circles of learning, medical committee, roles and goals meetings, and individual planning, and others as required;
- Carries the emergency phone in a rotation basis with other coordinators;
- Contributes to the auditing of Health and Safety, property, Finance;
- Audit Passport activities monthly in partnership with the HL;
- Participates in community activities and gatherings.

**Qualifications, skills and position requirements**
- Post-secondary degree, preferably in the DS sector, or equivalent;
- Bilingual, or written and speaking with fluency in French and English;
- Several years of experience in the DS sector
- Knowledgeable about MCCSS and Health Care systems;
- Knowledgeable about L’Arche history, values and vision, experience in coordination role in L’Arche an asset;
- Ability to be flexible and manage the stress of multi-faceted responsibilities and management;
- Ability to remain calm, focused and clear in times of crisis;
- Organized and able to set priorities and follow-through on commitments in timely fashion;
- Collaborative, excellent communication skills, including the ability to give direction, report information and model effective communication techniques/strategies with the Core Members in the home;
- Open to learn and grow, able to give and receive feedback;
- Ability to proactively manage tensions in relationships;
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, delegate and supervise;
- Administrative and computer literacy skills;
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience (G Class) with insurance record;
- A current police check for the vulnerable sector;
- Flexible work hours/schedule.
