Situated in an 18-bed forensic unit at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, this Psychologist I position holds a key role within the multidisciplinary Turning Point Program which provides assessment, stabilization and treatment for youth aged 12-20 under the federal Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). As part of this team, you will have a role in assisting adolescents reach their goals related to improved mental health, reduced recidivism, healthy relationships and successful independent living. **Description**:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include: psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as education activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practice and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consults/collaborates with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Trauma informed treatment experience is required. Strong skills and experience in report writing, specifically writing justice related reports and incorporation of psychological assessments for court reporting, is also required. Suicide prevention certification and Non-violent Crisis Intervention required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
A history of working with at risk youth/youth populations is a strong asset. Experience working with mandated clients within a justice setting strongly preferred.
