**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Care Manager, the Psychologist I is responsible for clinical assessments and associated services for referred clients with learning, behavioral and mental health concerns in an outpatient setting. This position works within the multidisciplinary team with referrals generated by child psychiatrists and other team members located in the Community Addiction and Mental Health Services portfolio, and potentially other Children, Youth, and Family, Addiction and Mental Health portfolios, in the Edmonton Zone. This position is responsible for triaging referrals to schedule assessments based on priority of need; selecting and administering appropriate testing instruments; and interpreting test scores according to interpretive guidelines, relevant research, and standards of professional practice. This position writes a comprehensive report of the assessment results and interpretation in accordance with professional standards of practice, and collaborates with physician, interdisciplinary colleagues, clients and families in sharing the assessment findings. This position is at or out of the Rutherford Mental Health Clinic.

**Description**:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, appropriate training and current knowledge in relation to assessment tools and instruments. 3 - 5 years in assessment and treatment expertise with school aged children/adolescents with a wide variety of developmental, learning, behavioral and or mental health issues is required. Must be knowledgeable regarding treatments currently in use for children and youth with psychiatric illness. Must have proven communication, assessment, organization, and critical thinking skills. Connect Care experience is required. Current CPR certification at the BLS level is required.
