**Your Opportunity**:
The Edmonton Zone Individualized Prehabilitation (EZIP) Psychologist I is an exciting, new, and critical rehabilitation position within the Community Allied Health, Edmonton Zone. The EZIP team is a new interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that will be responsible for co-designing, creating, and delivery of Individualized Prehabilitation services in collaboration with the Provincial Prehabilitation Coordination Team. Prehabilitation describes care, education, and resources provided before surgery designed to reduce the risk of surgical complications, reduce the need for unexpected healthcare services, and help patients return to normal activities more quickly after surgery. Prehabilitation interventions aim to improve or maintain health across five domains: physical, nutritional, psychological, social, and modifiable risk factors. The individualized services will meet the specific health needs of patients and families along with necessary referrals to the care providers through education and services in virtual, in-person, and group formats. Services for this program will be delivered from a number of community sites or at client homes as required.

**Description**:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Current practice permit with a minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation practice, including community rehabilitation and/or outpatient specialized service settings. Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to develop therapeutic relationships and navigate sensitive situations. Ability to create effective internal and external partnerships. Aptitude for performing in an environment of innovation, continuous change, and learning. Excellent clinical reasoning and decision-making skills. Initiative and ability to work independently in clinical and virtual settings. Access to own vehicle. Ability and willingness to travel to a number of community sites and client homes as required.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Canadian College of Alberta Psychologists membership preferred, or other organization closely affiliated to psychology practice areas is an asset. Psychologist I may need to sit for long periods of time. In a community setting, there are occasionally some physical demands with transporting equipment, therapy materials (20-50lbs) or bending/rotation, etc. as required for clinical duties. BLS-HCP Certification.
