Why is this role important?- What you'll do
- 1. Provides leadership in the planning and execution of branch priorities and operational deliverables including data monitoring, maintenance of the operational systems for data collection and data processing.
- 2. Leads and motivates the team; provides clear direction; effectively delegates and monitors performance results; participates in recruitment activities; supports team through change; makes decisions that balance the best interest of the team, the organization and its stakeholders; and leads by example by promoting CIHI’s core values.
- 3. Builds relationships and supports clients and stakeholders implementing or using CIHI data standards and/or data in home care, long-term care, rehabilitation and mental health sectors (collectively known as Specialized Care).
- 4. In collaboration with other SC team leads, acts as principal liaison with the CIHI Information Technology Services division to ensure operations, production of standard outputs and required maintenance of system specifications and databases.
- 5. Responsible for operationalizing the new Integrated interRAI Reporting System (IRRS) that utilizes new technology and integrates assessments from multiple sectors.
- 6. Contributes to the promotion of CIHI products and services through participation on external committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences and other activities, as required.
- 7. Develops and maintains an understanding of home care, long-term care, hospital based rehabilitation and mental health standards and other CIHI data standards as well as associated products and services
- What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in health sciences, business/health administration, health information, social science or equivalent skills and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, in health information or a health-related field, with a focus on project management and team leadership.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to manage and supervise an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of database systems, data submission processes, and data management best practices.
- Conceptual knowledge of health services and an understanding of Canada's health systems, and current issues and relevant public policies related to health information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of assessment standards related to home care, long-term care, hospital based rehabilitation and mental health, including interRAI and UDSMR (FIM®) is an asset.
- Knowledge of standards development, data quality as well as data analysis and reporting is an asset.
- Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
