Peterson Advisors Corp. is looking for a detail-oriented Associate, Investor Services and Compliance to join our team. Reporting to the Director, Investor Relations, you will be the primary point of contact for all administrative matters pertaining to investor accounts. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, you will be responsible for onboarding new investors, investor communications, and overseeing investor platforms and databases. At the same time, you will work closely with our Chief Compliance Officer to ensure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Supporting the Director, Investor Relations with closing of transactions, including key tasks such as, but not limited to:
- Reviewing subscription/investment agreements;
- Collecting all onboarding documentation from investors;
- Assisting investors with understanding and completing AML/KYC forms and agreements; and
- Completing due diligence checklist including AML/KYC checks.
- Ensuring accurate maintenance and proper documentation of all client files, records and transactions;
- Supporting in the preparation, dissemination and distribution of external investor communications including marketing materials, investor updates, investor statements, capital calls, distributions, tax slips etc.;
- Overseeing the investor platform, act as the main contact with service providers and providing support and assistance to investors;
- Assisting in creation and maintenance of the investor database;
- Overseeing the investor relations mailbox and act as a first point of contact for all investor queries;
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships;
- Assisting in supporting the compliance function with a variety of monthly monitoring and regulatory tasks including filing of reports of exempt distributions, compliance risk assessment and regulatory inquiries; and
- Responsible for the documentation of process flow, policies and procedures as it relates to the investor relations and compliance functions.
**What You Bring**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an investor relations or services role, preferably in the real estate industry;
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field;
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Exempt Market Proficiency Course (EMP) is an asset;
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, Mail Merge and Mail Chimp;
- Experience with Exempt Edge software or Yardi Investor Portal is an asset;
- Exceptional attention to detail, meticulous and methodical in performing duties;
- Excellent client service with a proven record of strong client relationship experience;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving;
- Ability to maintain quality, accuracy and focus while working through repetitive tasks;
- Maintain a high-level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information;
- Efficient and effective project management, demonstrating accountability and ability to multitask while managing multiple projects and competing deadlines;
- Ability to work well within a team and independently while having the professional judgment to understand when to escalate issues.
Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000
