Under the direction and supervision of Executive Vice President - Operations the role
supports Hotel General Managers at operational properties and is responsible for
leading a highly-engaged people-centric culture in an environment of collaboration and
involvement. The role supports the company’s commitment to supporting, and the
advancement of diversity, inclusion, equality, and belongingness at Sunray group of
hotels. The role provides ongoing HR and people management support and advice
to property leaders, enabling them to make informed business decisions that have
people implications.
This position
Acts as Cultural Engagement Expert with a keen awareness and
understanding of the business value of a highly engaged employee culture
and can leverage sound and consistent policies and processes to foster and
drive an engaged culture.
Acts as a Strategic Problem Solver: easily navigates between the
development of long-term strategy and short-term tactical needs required to
deliver business and people goals.
Acts as a Trusted Advisor: develops relationships across all functions and
management levels. Is highly credible and can deal with sensitive and
confidential information. Excellent business acumen along with multi-cultural
and people skills consistent with best practices in a global environment.
Acts as an Excellent Communicator & Change Agent: is highly skilled in all
modes of communication with ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Understands the value of diverse input from stakeholders and can
productively challenge status quo to achieve improvement and change.

Recruitment / Talent Development / Performance Management:
- Continuously improves the efficiency and effectiveness of core HR processes and
systems, including employee lifecycle management, learning & development,
talent acquisition and incentive & succession plans.

- Works closely with corporate & property-based teams to have clear
understanding of business environment, strategy, talent needs and people
implications.
- Leads full cycle recruitment process and works with corporate office and
property-based leadership to ensure proper onboarding & orientation
- Identifies talent issues and impact on business and work with leadership to
design plans to mitigate
- Work with Regional Directors & GMs on development of department-specific
people solutions related to talent management, development planning,
succession planning, training programs (facilitation and coordination).
- Structures & implements performance management process at Sunray group
properties.
- Supports the administration of various processes to ensure timely and
accurate record keeping in line with company policies and the law.
- Manages organizational development initiatives, builds and maintain rewards and
recognition programs, coordinate employee communication and feedback,
develop programs for upskilling employees and foster culture of innovation,
teamwork and lifelong learning.
- Structures succession planning at all properties, thus enabling them to fill
required skill demands from within
- Directs Worker's Compensation and WSIB compliance programs with respect to
filing and monitoring of all claims.
- Ensure training compliance and program participation in Safety Committee
initiatives are in line with brand, company polices and the law.
- Oversee group wise Safety Committee activities to include suggestions for
improving safety on the properties and any cost-savings benefits.
- Conduct annual wage and benefit survey of local competition to ensure our pay
and benefits are fairly placed.
- Assists properties with Labour relations, assists with conducting CBA
negotiations, Guides property managers on grievance related issues &
procedures and manages any other CBA/employee related actions including
disciplining, terminations, layoffs et
and Executive Directors on development of people processes and projects
- Works with leaders to define and implement tactics that positively impact
team culture and enhance overall team performance.
