London Cares is a not-for-profit agency aimed at building relationships and supporting those who are experiencing homelessness making it possible to help move some of the most vulnerable people in our community from street to home. Through a low barrier, compassionate approach we build relationships and are advocates for those we work with to build bridges and connections to the resources they need in support of their success and well-being.

London Cares programming continues to grow and expand to meet the needs of the community we serve. We are seeking a Community Development Coordinator/Social Media Specialist to join our team, in a full-time capacity for a one year contract and possibility for extension, working Monday to Friday. Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, group health and dental benefits, paid sick and personal time as well as 3 weeks of vacation to start.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the responsibilities of the Community Development Coordinator and Social Media Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

- Seek out funding to support London Cares projects
- Maintain donor relations database and handle all communication with charitable donors
- Develop current and future fundraising opportunities with personal and corporate donors
- Provide Community education with external partners and organizations
- Managing daily social media posts.
- Creating consistent, meaningful content that aligns with London Cares’ mission, vision, and values on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
- Communicating with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.
- Suggesting recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
- Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
- High level attention to detail
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, public relations, communications, or marketing considered a strong asset
- Experience in fundraising required
- Experience with Canada Helps donor management software considered a strong asset
- Experience with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Willingness to take on any task with a positive, can-do attitude
- Knowledge or passion for social inequities relating to homelessness with a solution focus required
- Experience or knowledge within the homelessness or non-profit sector, including knowledge of community resources
- Ability to cope with and embrace change, ambiguity, and uncertainty
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written along with great interpersonal skills
- Integrity and trustworthiness, with an ability to handle sensitive information effectively and confidentially
- Superior attention to detail and excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
