**Opportunity**

The IMPACT Parenting Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, delivery, evaluation and administration of the Immigrant Parents and Children Together (or IMPACT) Parenting Program. The program provides immigrant mothers, grandmothers and caregivers of children between the ages of 0 and 6 with information and/or support in building confidence and skill in the following areas: positive parenting, nutrition, child development, dental hygiene, injury prevention, discipline vs. punishment, resettlement, Canadian law, community resources and women's issues. The coordinator is responsible for program marketing, participant recruitment and follow up, administration, meeting all evaluation and reporting requirements, content and resource development, referrals and service linking to community resources and services to help meet the needs of program participants.

**The Key Areas of Responsibility are**:
1. Produce and distribute program promotion materials

2. Recruit, select and register program participants based on program eligibility criteria and their needs.

3. Follow up and monitor program participation through phone follow up and home visits

4. Design group sessions in accordance with the program guidelines and the participants' skills and needs.

5. Conduct and or lead information and skill-building workshops on specific topics including positive parenting, nutrition, child development, dental hygiene, injury prevention, resettlement, Canadian law, community resources and Gender issues.

6. Develop appropriate resources that support the delivery of the program.

7. Coordinate field trips in accordance with the program plan and agency policies.

8. Encourage independence, self-sufficiency and community involvement among program participants.

9. Ensure all the necessary facilities, equipment and materials are available for the program.

10. Conduct program evaluation and monitoring activities as required by the funder, in accordance with PQI processes and the Council on Accreditation (COA) standards.

11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources to provide program related information to participants.

12. Liaison with and/or promote the interests of immigrant parents with other community service providers and professionals.

13. Work closely with inter-department and other community programs, staff, and volunteers for the purpose of referral and integrated service delivery.

14. Maintain program records containing statistics, and other paperwork relevant to the program.

15. Participate in staff meetings and special meetings if required.

16. Adhere to the Policies and Procedures and Personnel Policies, Procedures and Practices of the Society.

17. Complete other tasks as assigned by Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or other related social science and supplemental training in early childhood education, parenting-related topics, health promotion and harm reduction as relevant to families with young children.
- Training and/or experience in teaching, group facilitation, program coordination, and coordination of parenting programs.
- Ability to develop and deliver lesson plans and resources appropriate for English as a Second Language learners.
- Cross-cultural training and/or experience in working in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of settlement and integration issues faced by immigrants and refugees.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills. A second language is an asset.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of community resources and ability to network and build partnerships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with outcome-based program evaluation strategies.
- A confidentiality agreement and criminal record check are requirements of employment.
- A driver's license and use of personal vehicle is considered an asset.
