**About the role**

We are looking for a Property Claims Specialist I to join our growing team

This opportunity can be based in any of the following Intact Ontario offices: London/Mississauga (6925 Century Ave)/Ottawa.

**What you'll do here**:

- Evaluate property damage and evaluate replacement or restoration requirements including direct and in-person contact with insured, claimants, and service providers.
- Prepare repair estimates using an automated appraisal system.
- Obtains from contractor’s repair cost agreements or quotations on the restoration.
- Monitors and update labour and material costs to be paid within their region.
- Compose summary reports on vendor performance and, if necessary, formulates recommendations for further action.
- Maintain effective communication channels with claims departments.
- Establish and maintain productive business relationships with contractors and other service providers.
- Assist in the screening and review of contractors’ performance to meet professional and corporate standards.
- Manage and maintain automated appraisal system queue(s) and audit functions.

**What you bring to the table**:

- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- High-level knowledge of the Xactimate/XactAnalysis estimating software.
- A minimum of 3 years related experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction and repair procedures
- Effective verbal communication skills with experience in interviewing, coaching and dealing with clients
- Good written communication skills to draft claims reports
- Computer proficient
