**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:
Completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by business courses, plus considerable related experience in investigational work in a police environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**:

- Thorough knowledge of investigational procedures and evidentiary requirements in conducting police investigations and of the Criminal Code of Canada and other applicable Federal and Provincial statutes enforced by the RCMP.
- Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to maintaining RCMP files and records.
- Considerable knowledge of clerical and recordkeeping methods and procedures.
- Ability to read occurrence files for investigational content and quality, to ensure that all proper investigational procedures and evidentiary requirements are met, and that all investigations are complete.
- Ability to ensure the completeness, accuracy and validity of U.C.R (Uniform Crime Reporting) coding and C.P.I.C. (Canadian Police Information Centre) files and records.
- Ability to provide direction to members, investigators and other staff to ensure that all investigative actions comply with prescribed policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate computer terminals.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports related to the work.

**LICENSES & CERTIFICATES**:

- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance
