**Job description**

Need a Educational assistant to work with kids with Autism.

**Qualifications**:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

2. Previous experience in a special need’s environment is required, with a strong preference for experience with young adults.

3. Professional in the delivery of daily programs and care of students with special needs.

4. Fluency in English with the ability to read, write, and comprehend at a high level to assist in teaching young adults.

5. Strong problem-solving skills and creativity for dealing with conflicts and challenges as they arise.

6. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

7. Responsive communication and excellent interpersonal skills.

8. Punctuality and flexibility are required for meeting the needs of the people supported

9. Patience, understanding, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and effective manner.

Valid First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

**Key Responsibilities**

Assist students with integration into the classroom and lunch setting

Help students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning and retention concepts under the supervision of the teacher or professional.

Assist students with special needs using techniques such as sign language and picture exchange programs.

Monitor and report student progress to teacher or professional.

Accompany and supervise students during activities in Yoga, Physical activities, out door activities and on field trips.

May assist teacher in the operation of projectors, video recordings and other audio-visual or electronic equipment.

Assist with daily living skills including toileting.

May monitor students during recess, at noon hour or during the day.

Any other duties as assigned

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.55-$17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

- First Aid Certification (required)
