**Indigenous Internship Program**

The Indigenous Internship Program (IIP) is a 12-month paid internship program designed to provide recent Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) post-secondary graduates with the opportunity to gain professional-level work experience and a pathway through which they can build and develop transferable skills that can be used to gain sustained employment in their field of choice.

You must self-identify as an Indigenous person to be eligible for this program. The term Indigenous refers to individuals who identify as being descended from the original inhabitants (the first peoples) of what is now known as Canada. In this context, Indigenous people are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
**Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (1 position at 300 Water St, 3rd Floor, Peterborough)**

**Strategic Human Resources Branch**
As a member of the Branch, you will:

- support a team of human resources professionals by assisting in the design, development and implementation of corporate initiatives related to leadership & learning, talent management, health, safety & wellness, youth programming, and organizational development;
- provide coordination support for projects, services and activities in the Branch, including assisting in scheduling, drafting agendas, assembling material, and preparing presentations and meeting notes;
- have the opportunity to participate in learning & development and mentoring opportunities designed to support your own career growth and development..

**Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) (1 position optional hybrid remote/work from home and 1 Stone Rd., Guelph, or fully remote/work from home)**

**Strategic HR Branch**
Gain valuable HR experience by joining the Strategic HR Branch (SHRB) and contribute to our core business lines of: Diversity and Inclusion, HR Planning, Talent Management, Leadership Development & Learning, Organizational Design & Change, HR Administration & Advisory Services, Strategic Labour Relations, Health, Safety, & Wellness, and Data & Analytics. As a member of our highly engaged, professional, inclusive, and innovative team, you'll be exposed to many business lines and activities as well as gain deeper knowledge and experience in strategic HR projects/initiatives and HR consulting services to ministry leaders. Some of the projects you may be involved in are:

- Supporting the HR Business Advisors responsible for leading the ministry's Strategic Labour Relations;
- Supporting the HR Business Advisors responsible for providing HR advice and client services;
