The Indigenous Internship Program (IIP) is a 12-month paid internship program designed to provide recent Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) post-secondary graduates, with the opportunity to gain professional level work experience and a pathway through which they can build and develop transferable skills that can be used to gain sustained employment in their field of choice.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
**Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (2 positions at 300 Water St, Peterborough, East Region or 99 Wellesley St. W., Toronto)**

**Policy Division**:
We're looking for a motivated professional to join our dynamic team to assist on a variety of natural resource management, land claims and Indigenous relations policy projects; conduct research and analysis; assist with the planning and delivery of meetings and workshops and participate on various ministry and inter-ministerial committees and working/project groups.

**Ontario Science Centre (1 position at 770 Don Mills Road Toronto)**

**Strategic Initiatives / Science**:
We are looking for a motivated, highly creative individual to join our team. The person in this position will be working with the science department in the Strategic Initiatives branch and will assist the team in developing an Indigenous Framework which will guide future work for the center. The framework will be detail actions that the organization can take for reconciliation and to enhance relationships with our Indigenous individuals, communities and organizations. This person will also work with teams to assess current offerings - programs and exhibits to understand relevance and opportunities to incorporate Indigenous knowledge.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You must have graduated or will complete the requirements to graduate with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate from a recognized or legally authorized post-secondary institution within the last five years of May 2018-June 2023.
- You must self-identify as an Indigenous person. The term Indigenous refers to individuals who identify as being descended from the original inhabitants (the first peoples) of what is now known as Canada. In this context, Indigenous people are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit.
- You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
