**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
- Provides project planning in support of the branch and ministry's Indigenous initiatives. Coordinates project activities, including reviewing and monitoring project progress, key deliverables, timelines and budgets, and assisting in the assessment of project financial and material requirements.
- Assists in the development of workshops and preparation of presentations, work plans, briefings and reports according to branch priorities for decision-support materials and other products, as required.
- Conducts research and analysis of new developments and best practices, including the exploration of potential new training materials and tools, as well as mechanisms for information sharing, tracking and monitoring effectiveness.
- Participates in the development of standards, processes and performance measures to ensure the efficiency of the Branch.
- Consults and engages with other ministries and clients, including ministry program managers and their staff, to seek input and/or assess feedback collected and to discuss the review/development of processes.
- Participates in team meetings, committees and working groups to convey and support the development of strategies and approaches in achieving business, decision-making and goals and objectives.
- Assists to engage and work with divergent interests of other Ontario ministries and with other governments and supports the Branch's relationships with Indigenous organizations to achieve consensus on mutual interests, policy development, reporting requirements, accountability frameworks, and effective programs.
- Maintains awareness of major social, economic, cultural and demographic trends, issues and innovations in Indigenous relations.
**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:
- You must have graduated or will complete the requirements to graduate with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate from a recognized or legally authorized post-secondary institution in the last five years (May 2019-August 2024).
- You must self-identify as an Indigenous person. The term Indigenous refers to individuals who identify as being descended from the original inhabitants (the first peoples) of what is now known as Canada. In this context, Indigenous people are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit.
- You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- You must be a resident of Ontario during the term of employment.
**Knowledge**:
- Knowledge of Ontario's Indigenous peoples, culture, governance, community perspectives and political dynamics, to work effectively with a team focused on Indigenous Relations and to contribute to regional goals and initiatives
- Knowledge of tools and techniques for gathering, analyzing, evaluating and summarizing information, and developing and evaluating policy options and recommendations
