**About us**

**L’Arche Greater Vancouver is an intentional community where adults with developmental disabilities, along with those who come to assist them, share life together in family-like settings and work environments.**

The Finance Assistant supports the Director of Finance and Support Services in the preparation of reporting financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), government regulations, principles and guidelines. Major responsibilities are:

- Review invoices for accuracy and approval, process accounts payables and receivables
- Prepare and transmit documentation to bank authorizing the transfer of funds
- Review and process semi-monthly payroll journal entries
- Review all cheques and cash for deposit
- Post semi-monthly payroll journal entries accurately
- Reconcile banks, general ledger and inter-company accounts
- Process for review, statutory filings
- Assist with budget, variance, month and year end audit schedules
- Organize and file all supporting transaction and administrative documentation
- Liaise with L’Arche personnel, as appropriate
- Participate in special projects as required by the Director of Finance & Support Services
- Maintain Reference Manual for Finance & Accounting

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Burnaby, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
