**Duties and Qualifications**:

- have excellent oral and written communication skills;
- deliver a course load of five courses per academic year;
- have a working knowledge of 2-d and 3-d art techniques from contemporary to historical art genres;
- instruct in a variety of introductory-to-advanced undergraduate courses in 2-d and 3-d techniques;
- instruct courses in Indigenous art histories of the Americas;
- ability to teach for an extended period of time - average studio class is 2.75 hours;
- participate in development of new curriculum to expand course offerings in studio arts and Indigenous art histories of the Americas;
- assist in maintaining safety standards, equipment, and tools used in fine art production;
- contribute to building proactive approaches in the Indigenous Communication & Fine Arts program;
- contribute to the continued development of the Studio Arts and Indigenous Art Histories programs;
- serve as representative for the Indigenous Communication & Fine Arts program on various academic committees;
- an MFA in Studio Art or an MFA in progress with a record of professional artistic achievement;
- a thorough knowledge of Indigenous art histories from pre-contact to contemporary practice;
- an active artistic practice and exhibition record;
- 2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level;
- knowledge of health, safety, and waste management standards in an art studio environment;
- ability to teach and maintain safety standards in 2-d and 3-d studios.
