Gaia Garden is seeking a highly motivated and experienced hands-on General Manager. The General Manager leads the store team and is accountable for all department operations and profitability; with the goal of providing a healthful environment and rewarding experience for our customers and team. Above all, the GM intimately understands that our customers are the foundation of our business, and our staff team are the heartbeat Working with our partners such as health practitioners and suppliers is key to the success of Gaia Garden.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Recruit, hire, mentor, supervise and motivate team.
- Optimize team schedules in line with customer traffic flow and store events.
- Lead team to exceed sales and margin targets within an education focused sales environment.
- Train team and model exceptional customer care. Actively provide team feedback for continual improvement of customer care and sales skills.
- Completes team member reviews, makes recommendations to ownership for compensation and team member development plans.
- Work in tandem with ownership to optimize product mix, promotional strategy, merchandising, specific team training, and education event opportunities.
- Assure product replenishment and accurate receiving to achieve correct stock levels, pricing and margin goals.
- Oversees facility management, including IT, security and staff and customer safety.
- Facilitate a clean, healthy and well-organized working and shopping environment.
- Assures compliance with federal and provincial health, safety and employment laws
- Oversee and coordinate in-store and online sales & marketing (newsletters, monthly sales and events) for products and services.
- Coordinates rental, booking and follow up product sales for health practitioner.
- Identifies potential new, unique and in demand product offerings for retail space and online.
- Oversees, receiving, inventory, packaging and shipping functions of store and online business.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned.
- Administrative Duties:_
- Setting and meeting goals for service, operations, and financial results
- Maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Maintaining property and equipment
- Inspecting and adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines
- Performing front-line customer service
- Facilities/Corporate Responsibilities:_
- Responsible for weekly and monthly inventories
- Responsible for the placement of all food, paper/packaging, retail, and marketing material orders
- Assume full accountability for all P&L results: labor, cost of goods, store supplies, and any other controllable monthly store costs
- Optimize profits by controlling cost of goods, and labor costs daily, weekly, and monthly
- Continually monitor the store and take appropriate action to ensure food quality and service standards are consistently met
- Ensure facility and equipment are maintained to company standards
- Maintain exceptional relationships with vendors, securing timely delivery of inventory
- aim to reduce cost of goods by reviewing price logs in detail

**Qualifications**
- At least 2 years of retail supervision experience.
- General computer skills; ability to work within a point of sales system, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and online shopping & customer service on Wordpress and Shopify.
