Under the general direction of the Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and general support of
Unix/Linux server infrastructure. Must be technically knowledgeable in Unix/Linux operating systems, virtualization technology, and
server hardware. A strong understanding of server and network security principles is also required. Will also be responsible for
leading small to medium technology projects and will occasionally represent the Unix Server Management group on larger
technology projects.
**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Build, deploy, and maintain servers.
- Build, deploy, and maintain proprietary Unix server infrastructure.
- Manage patching of Linux/Unix servers.
- Automate technical processes using industry standard automation tools.
- Coordinate server hardware installations and upgrades.
- Procure hardware and software as requested.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in Remedy.
- Manage the support agreement renewal process for various hardware and software contracts.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Participate in large IT projects, that span multiple departments.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Develop strong working relationships with other areas of the ITS division.
- Work with end users and other technical groups to resolve complex system problems when necessary.
- Create and update technical documentation as required.
**_ Qualifications:_**
- A four-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing plus a minimum of
three years related server infrastructure support experience.
OR
- A two-year diploma in Computer Programming Technology or relevant/related discipline from an institute of recognized
standing plus a minimum of five years related server infrastructure support experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of Unix and Linux server infrastructure and operating systems.
- Demonstrated understanding IT security concepts and controls.
- Working knowledge of Unix scripting languages.
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of server hardware/software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of server virtualization concepts.

- Must be available to participate in 24x7 on call rotation.
**_ Salary Range_**
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $37.94-$52.52 Hourly,
$72,703.54-$100,638.98 Annually.
