**Position Description**:
The Office, Anti-Racism Equity and Human Rights Services (OAREHR) promotes principles of equity diversity and inclusion at GBC. Our mandate is to provide services and programs that support the college in cultivating a community that is free from harassment, discrimination, sexual violence, racism, and exclusive practices.
The Manager, Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion will play a critical role in supporting this mandate by developing and delivering initiatives that support the embedment of an anti-racism, equity-minded and inclusive practices. Reporting to the AVP, OAREHRS this position will be working closely with leadership, internal committees, and key departments to support the implementation of GBC Strategies and institutional plans (including Anti-racism strategy and Anti-Racism Action Plan) by developing programming, initiatives and resources that build institutional AR and EDI capacity and capabilities.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Works closely with AVP, OARHRES and other key community members to develop goals and metrics to support Anti-Racism and EDI practices and program development and implementation.
- Coordinates Education Initiatives and Develops tools and resources to promote and support Anti-racism and equity and inclusion institution-wide learning and development.
- Designs and implements practices to monitor, report and synthesize key AR/EDI data to drive insight and action with both quantitative and qualitative measures.
- Provides leadership, supervision (coaching, guidance, assign work, performance management etc.) and direction to Education and Development Coordinator(s).
- Liaises and provides consultation to departments and teams related to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion issues.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience requirements**:
- Graduate level university degree in any of the following fields: Human Right Studies, Adult Education, Higher Education, Policy Administration, Higher Education Administration or equivalent combination of academic preparation and experience, with combined expertise in social justice, equity studies, anti-racist/anti-oppressive practices.
- Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in progressively senior leadership positions, preferably in post-secondary institutions, project and change management and policy / program development.
- Experience with development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.
- Awareness of federal and provincial policies and their impact on equity deserving groups.
- Experience must include a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of trauma informed practices as well as the impacts of systemic and structural inequities on historically marginalized groups.
- Theoretical and practical expertise is required in inclusive pedagogies and anti-racism pedagogical design, including the incorporation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in public educational programming.
- Experience monitoring data, preparing reports, and using case management systems,
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the historical context of inequity experienced by equity deserving groups within Canada and globally and through an intersectional lens that considers gender, race, sexuality, and ability.
- Familiarity with human rights legislation (including the Ontario Human Rights Code, relevant provisions of the Education Act and Regulations, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Bill 132, Sexual Violence and Harassment Plan Act, the Occupational Health, and Safety Act, the Employment Standards Act, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, etc.).
