Brookstreet Hotel & Marshes Golf Club is Ottawa’s leading restaurant, spa, conference and wedding destination is seeking a talented, dynamic Event Manager. Working at The Marshes Golf Club means redefining the hospitality experience in Ottawa where we deliver sensational service.
The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating with Event Organizers and clearly communicating their requirements to various hotel departments via Event Orders, Group Resumes and other methods of communication as required. The Event Manager plays a pivotal role in the ultimate success of all Brookstreet events.
Qualifications:
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and communication skills
- Ability to perform job functions with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work cohesively in a team setting and multi task with several events at once
- Ability to focus attention on detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Opera Cloud and Delphi
- Previous experience in a similar role
**Responsibilities**:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process and ensuring successful events with Event Planners and clients.
- Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure all event logistics are handled efficiently.
- Preparation of internal event documentation. Including Event Orders, Group Resumes, and Floorplans.
- Ensuring that deposits, adjustments, and billing procedures are followed in a timely manner.
- Consistently adhering to Department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Daily walk through the Banquet Function space area to greet Event Organizers/Clients/Guest and ensure their satisfaction.
- Flexible schedule outside of regular office hours to accommodate being in attendance for select events as needed.
- Conducting site tours to familiarize guests with Brookstreet.
- Conducting pre convention and post-convention meetings as needed.
- Upselling Food and Beverage and other hotel offerings to enhance the clients experience.
- Attending daily and weekly meetings with other hotel departments to ensure all event details have been communicated and are up to date.
- Maintaining and cultivating client relationships for future business
- Other tasks as duties as assigned
