**About the Opportunity**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP, Corporate Controller to lead and manage the Company's financial accounting, reporting, and control functions. This individual will oversee the month-end close process, the preparation and review of SEC financial reporting deliverables, complex accounting analysis, and maintaining robust accounting policies while maintaining effective SOX internal controls over financial reporting. The VP, Corporate Controller will play a critical role in driving the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of the Company's financial reporting and will serve as a key member of the finance leadership team, reporting to the CFO.

**Job Duties**:

- Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations as well as month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles in accordance with accounting policies.
- Ownership of the PnL, including month-end variance analysis and illuminating areas for potential cost savings.
- Working with the business and Project Controls team to ensure accurate and appropriate records for the substantive capital investment.
- Manage the company's monthly balance sheet and P/L reconciliation processes, maintaining effective controls over financial reporting.
- Lead all external reporting for Tucows including, but not limited to, 10-K, 10-Q, subsidiary audits, external audits, and SOX 404 compliance.
- Review includes both financial statements and the Management Discussion and analysis.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Proven experience with designing and implementing process improvements and controls surrounding an accounting function.
- A creative problem-solver, who thrives in complex, ambiguous situations and prides themselves on staying one step ahead of potential issues.
- Respected as a people-person and a strong collaborative team player with ability to build strong relationships in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and help others prioritize to meet deadlines and goals in a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Team player with self-drive, willing to be hands on and add value in a dynamic and changing organization (essential).
- Sarbanes Oxley Act 2002, COSO 2013 framework and related interpretations (essential).
- US GAAP (Good working knowledge desirable).
- Extensive working experience in Finance function such as Accounting or Controlling that are usually bound to strict deadlines (essential).
- Exposure and in depth knowledge of internet services such as domain name registration, mobile telephony or fixed internet access industry and associated processes, controls, laws and regulation (desirable, not essential).
- Exposure to corporate finance and a solid understanding of valuation principles (desirable, not essential).

**Qualifications Required**:

- 12+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree and CA, CPA or comparable accounting designation (essential).
- Microsoft Office - Word and Excel (essential).
- Accounting systems similar to Intacct (desirable, not essential).

The base salary range for this position is $209,000 to $245,900. Range shown in $CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
