Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty for Degree Level teaching in our Craft & Design program within the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design.

Sheridan seeks part-time professors to teach one-semester, face-to-face, the following course over the 14-week Fall session, starting September 5, 2023. The classes are tentatively scheduled to run on Monday 8am - 11am, 11am - 2pm and Wednesday 11:30-2:30 at our Sheridan College Trafalgar campus.

DESN14518 Digital Modelling 1

Studies introduce students to foundational computer literacy in key industry standard computer-aided design (CAD) and Fusion 360 software. Students explore fundamental skills working first within a vector-based drawing system and then advance to 3-dimensional modeling. Lessons focus on concepts related to drawing and modeling strategic problem solving, digital file management, and navigating and visualizing virtual spaces. Students create accurate and descriptive presentations of digital designs while exploring the potential for integrating digital drawing and 3D modeling into material craft fabrication processes.

What You’ll be Doing

Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to College, School and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies.

**Specific responsibilities include**:
Ensuring that program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines;
Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning styles;
Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning;
Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the learning process.

Professors also ensure that students are aware of course and program learning outcomes, learning strategies and evaluation techniques; provide individual tutoring and academic counselling; and evaluate student progress/achievement within assigned courses.

Masters preferred

Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry [preferred]

Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment

Minimum of 5 years related professional experience
