**Overview**:
The Archdiocese of Toronto’s Office for Refugees (ORAT) administers the Archdiocese’s Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) contract with the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). ORAT works with a diverse set of stakeholders, including parishes and religious orders to resettle refugees from abroad. ORAT also helps parishes within the Archdiocese with refugee and immigration related matters.

Reporting to the Director, the Outreach Team Lead supervises and works with the Outreach Assistants to disburse funds to sponsored refugees, provide oversight of post-arrival support to newcomers by Constituent Groups (CGs) and Cosponsors, and administer ORAT’s newcomer survey. The team will also assist the Resettlement Educator & CG Animator to animate CGs and to match mission selected refugees with CGs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Outreach Oversight: Supervise/oversee Outreach’s day-to-day workflow to ensure efficient support for Constituent Groups (CGs - Refugee Committees) and cosponsors;
- Facilitate Cheque Request Process: Process cheque requests from cosponsors or CGs, ensuring sufficient funds are on deposit. Proactively issue cheque requests to ensure for the timely release of funds to newcomers;
- Settlement Oversight: Manager/distribute ORAT’s Newcomer Survey to all arrived refugees, determine support gaps, and work with CGs and cosponsors to resolve any support gaps;
- CG Engagement & Support: provide remote and on-site counsel, budgeting and administrative support to assist and guide the resettlement efforts of CGs;
- Data Entry/Storage: Ensure that all key post-submission inputs are entered to ORAT database(s), and that key documents and communication are stored in the shared network drive;
- Cosponsor Support: Communication of Notice of Arrival Transmissions (NATs), and Pre-NATs to cosponsors and CGs;
- Deposit Issue Resolution: Work with the CGs and cosponsors to address liability gaps;
- Problem Resolution: Handle escalated sponsor/client inquiries and concerns;
- Process Documentation: Ensure that ORAT Outreach processes are documented and ensure compliance;
- Support Documents: Review and update Outreach support materials as required;
- Volunteer Coordination: Develop and identify activities for Outreach volunteers, in collaboration with Outreach colleagues.
- Staff Training: Identify and arrange training opportunities for Outreach colleagues as needed.
- As required, organize and participate in information sessions, seminars and program meetings at various locations;
- Assist the Resettlement Educator & CG Animator: Provide assistance to the Resettlement Educator & CG Animator by encouraging parishes, religious and community groups to continue their involvement in refugee resettlement; with matching CGs with approved refugees in need of a sponsor group; with responding to IRCC’s monitoring related requests; and by providing input to information session content.
- Reports: Compile and coordinated regular and ad-hoc reports
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- University degree with focus on forced migration, social justice or related field; or equivalent;
- Proven knowledge of key aspects of the Refugee Resettlement Program;
- Experience in working with Catholic parishes and religious orders a strong asset;
- Budgeting and financial analysis capability a strong asset. Comfort with numbers is essential.
- Sensitivity to issues affecting refugee communities both internationally and in Canada;
- A minimum of 2 years or supervisory of managerial experience;
- Ability to work efficiently in all aspects of a Microsoft Office environment;
- Superior writing skills and the ability to produce professional reports;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required;
- Experience in public speaking;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and independently;
- Possession of valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable car;
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of the standard work day, including weekends and evenings when required;
- Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality;
- A criminal record check will be required.
