**Overview**:
Reporting to the Director of Academics, the Student Support Assistant (SSA) at Brookes College plays a crucial role as the critical point of contact for current students, shaping their initial impression of the institution by providing them with the necessary tools and support.
The **SSA** is expected to demonstrate professionalism through prompt, knowledgeable, and respectful interactions with current students and instructors. They are responsible for outbound calls to students regarding their academic progress, attendance policy and technical support.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Student Support and Follow-up_
- Support students by regularly monitoring their academic process.
- Regular check-ins with the students will be conducted based on their daily attendance.
- Guide students with technical difficulties in joining the online classes to relevant resources within the college when needed.
- Reach out to students within specific timeframes post-start date to ensure they abide by Brookes College Attendance Policy.
- Reach out to instructors after each session if student attendance is not marked promptly.

- Enter student information accurately into all necessary systems
- Ensure students' records are up to date for reporting purposes.
- Facilitate handovers to other departments (Finance & Admissions) and provide essential support during various processes.
- Assist with student file audits and ensure all required documentation is in place.
- Product Knowledge_
- Keep up to date with the latest features of the Learning Management System (LMS) that may be used to influence SSA's way of student support system.
- Educate current students on the latest features of the LMS and how to take advantage of them and make the most out of our Brookes College Resources.
- Educate current students on the efficient use of Microsoft Teams.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- A high school diploma or a post-secondary diploma in a related field is an asset.
- Experience in customer service, technical support, education, or outbound call centre roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong telephone skills with experience handling high-volume calls are considered an asset.
- Friendly, energetic, and positive attitude towards engaging with prospective students and team members.
- Familiarity with internet-based communication tools and platforms to support virtual interactions.
- Familiarity with the initial setup of laptops and Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Teams)

Pay: $32,000.00-$35,000.00 per year
