- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous non-mandated organizations.
- Knowledge of Child Welfare legislation, standards and regulations.
- Strong understanding of community capacity building models of practice.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances require
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
- Must be able to work closely with other staff, volunteers and the community in a positive, practical manner
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff, other agencies and the general public.
- A team player/facilitator in order to encourage an environment that fosters effective results in teams.
- Confident and positive in order to engage families in the helping relationship process or in order to support, motivate and encourage others to make positive choices.
- Maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Subject to Criminal, Prior Contact, and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Valid Class 5 drivers’ license and must have access to vehicle
