**The big picture**:
**In this role you will**:
- Ensure adherence to Transport Canada’s rules and regulations related to the licensing and training of pilots, maintenance, ops control and any other group of employees, as well as any other applicable aviation authorities, rules, or regulations within the scope of AirSprint operations.
- Liaise with AirSprint’s Principal Operations Inspector (POI) regarding all matters related with training as well as the approval and upkeep of the Training section in the Company Operations Manual (COM).
- Ensure the scheduling of all required training events in a timely matter, including but not limited to company indoctrination, initial and recurrent simulator training, line indoctrination, Crew Resource Management (CRM), captain upgrades, fleet transfers and online training.
- Responsible for optimizing training resources and activities to ensure the most efficient use of facilities, instructors, contracts, tools, and trainees.
- Oversee the creation, review, and update of AirSprint training programs, syllabi, lesson plans and other training content.
- As AirSprint’s representative for Training & Standards, provide visible, active engagement with external stakeholders, i.e. third-party training providers, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and industry groups.
- Negotiate, review, and renew any contracts and/or agreements with third-party training providers as needed, such as Flight Safety International, Textron Aviation, Embraer, and any learning management system (LMS) used for training.
- Ensure the adherence to AirSprint policies and procedures by any third-party or contractor providing training on behalf of AirSprint.
- Ensure accurate and adequate tracking of the training records of all training events in a timely manner.
- Manage an outstanding, competent, and highly motivated team in a very dynamic and high paced environment.
- Provide visible, active leadership and management of the Training & Standards department, including oversight of the processes, systems, records, and tools.
- Lead the Training & Standards team to collectively assist with the achievement of AirSprint’s objectives, metrics, and published Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a private or business aviation management role within an aviation training environment, including at least minimum of three (3) years’ experience instructing ground training and/or simulator training within an aviation training environment.
- Experience working with professional aviation training institutes.
- Knowledge of the content of the Aircraft Flight Manual, Aircraft Operating Manual (if applicable), Approved Check Pilot Manual, Company Operations and Training Manuals and the operator’s Standard Operating Procedures for the airplane types, and the provisions of the regulations and standards.
- Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) and Commercial Air Service Standard (CASS) for 704 and 604 operations.
- Knowledge and/or experience managing the CARS, specifically standards 724.115 training programs.
- Knowledge of technology uses for training aids, such as virtual reality, flight training devices, and flat panel training devices.
**Bonus points if you have**:
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot License preferred.
- Jet Aircraft type rating/s preferred.
