**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Independent Distribution and Strategic Planning, the Manager, Operations and Support is part of a growing team with accountability for overseeing the successful operation of the channel and leading diverse initiatives that advance our operational excellence and support in the independent marketplace

Working in conjunction with internal shared services and field stakeholders, the Manager will help execute channel priorities and facilitate the resolution of roadblocks interfering with the successful fulfillment of objectives. By leveraging their process-driven creativity to solve for challenges and create opportunities, this leader will become the conduit between Head Office and our diverse distribution partners.

Advancing the operational objectives within a rapidly growing channel will require the Manager to drive and strategically consult on projects by leveraging their unique position as the interface between the field, Independent Distribution and Head Office to ensure the vision is reflected in the outcomes. This leader will own daily operations accountabilities through high connectivity with leadership and business partners across the organization as they support the development and measurement of core programs, plans and initiatives.

As a core voice for the Independent Distribution organization, the Manager helps create efficiencies, data-driven frameworks and infrastructure that will help redefine the team’s agility, adaptability and execution.

The Manager will work closely with Independent Distribution leadership, distribution operational leadership, in addition to teams across AN and Canada Life as they set a critical path forward to increase our market competitiveness.

**What you will do**
- Work with key leaders and project teams to manage planning and execution of key initiatives led by Independent Distribution
- Work with key partners within Canada Life on the successful implementation of operational initiatives and development of reporting frameworks
- Acts as the gatekeeper of the operational and sales support value proposition in coordination with other team members
- Deepens relationships with internal and external operational teams with a mandate to help advance our operational excellence and sales capabilities nationally
- Provides in-depth support to accounts from an operational perspective with accountability to maximize awareness and drive execution on the initiative and tactic level
- Enables purposeful deployment of Shared Services support to help advance core objectives
- Partners with Independent Distribution, Shared Services and Wholesale to amplify continuity, planning, execution and ongoing awareness
- Helps lead initiatives and projects that take a barrier or opportunity through the ideation, planning and execution process
- Acts as a core gatekeeper for channel data, analytics and insights in collaboration with business partners to help the channel make strategic decisions
