The VP of IT will lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of robust, secure, and efficient IT systems and software solutions. This role involves close collaboration with the executive team, department heads, and the Board of Directors to provide strategic IT guidance and ensure organizational resilience.

**Responsibilities**
- **Leadership and Management**:Lead and inspire the IT team to transform into a business value service center, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop leadership capabilities within the team to enhance overall performance.
- **Risk Management and Compliance**:Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure the resilience of IT operations and safeguard the company from disruptions. Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits, including SOC compliance, to uncover vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Additionally, maintain a comprehensive data backup and recovery strategy to protect against data loss.
- **Cybersecurity and Data Protection**:Cultivate a company-wide culture of cybersecurity awareness through regular training and communication, ensuring all staff understand their role in protecting sensitive information.
- **IT Projects and Vendor management**:Work with current contractors/vendors to gain a comprehensive understanding of ongoing IT projects and systems, with the goal of building in-house competencies to manage or transition these systems internally as needed. Oversee relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure optimal support and cost-effectiveness while protecting the company's interests. Maintain a balanced portfolio of vendors, ensuring no single vendor dependency and protecting the company's interests through strategic negotiation and performance monitoring. Ensure that critical knowledge and intellectual property remain with the company enabling continued operations even if vendor relationships are terminated. Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT services align with the company's business and clinical needs, and bridge communications between security and IT operations to enhance cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance.
- **Budgeting and Financial Management**: Develop and oversee the IT department's annual budget to ensure efficient resource allocation while optimizing operational costs and maximizing ROI. Closely monitor IT expenditures to align with financial forecasts and promptly report any deviations to the executive team.
- **Software Development Oversight**: Oversee the company's software development needs, including planning, design, and implementation. Obtain clear requirements from internal teams for each software project, ensuring expected outcomes are documented. Develop and submit proposals to the Board and Co-CEO, detailing requirements, designs, costs, timelines, and milestone-based payment schedules. Lead the development and deployment of software solutions, ensuring smooth user acceptance testing and production deployment. Provide ongoing support for company-developed software, including server maintenance, software updates, bug fixes, and data refreshes.
- **IT Infrastructure, Operations and Security**: Plan, develop, and oversee the deployment of IT systems and operations, ensuring seamless integration with company-wide goals. Maintain and monitor IT operations, including datacenter services, IT service management, end-user services, and data management. Ensure the security and privacy of data, aligning IT operations with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PHIPA). Keep abreast of IT trends, emerging technologies, and security threats, particularly in healthcare and laboratory environments.
- **IT Policies and Best Practices**: Support the company's operational efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring well-maintained and functional software systems

**Qualification**
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in IT management, preferably within a healthcare, medical, or clinical laboratory environment.
- Proven experience leading software development projects, IT infrastructure management, and vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT standards, privacy regulations (PHIPA), and security requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
