**Your opportunity**:
Working under the direction of the Director, Administration and the Assistant Directors, International Programs,the Student Life Officer supports the planning and implementation of a wide range of programs designed to promote the active engagement of students (high school and undergraduate) in the International Programs Office at New College. The Student Life Officer works closely with the Student Life Assistants to promote community development, academic success and personal growth of students.

As a member of the New College International Programs Office, the Student Life Officer, International Programs,will be committed to an equity that recognizes, supports, and responds to the diverse histories, lived and marginalized experiences of international students and many communities.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing program activities for undergraduate programs and summer camps
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
- Determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Advising student groups on the development of clubs and societies
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum two years of recent and related experience administering student life activities to support international language learners, preferably in a post-secondary education institution.
- Minimum two years of recent experience supporting the development of co-curricular activities including leading and administering leadership and mentorship programs.
- Experience with student-focused event planning, promotion, and execution.
- Experience working with and providing direct support to high school-aged, university-aged, and mature international students.
- Demonstrated skills and ability to provide effective guidance and advice to students, student leaders and organizations in a responsive, empathetic, thoughtful, and discreet manner.
- Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and organize work, and meet tight deadlines while able to pay attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strong student and client service orientation and experience fostering equity, diversity and inclusion in a language-learning environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience writing content for and maintaining websites, and updating information on social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Experience using StarRez to place students into residence; making reservations, group bookings, and room changes.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience recording and collecting data, and producing standard reports.

**Assets (Nonessential)**:

- Professional working proficiency in a different language or languages other than English.
- Knowledge and/or experience of New College and its programs.
- Knowledge and/or experience with policies and procedures at the Faculty of Arts and Science.
