Director, Commercial Projects

Commercial Advisory and its Commercial Projects teams are uniquely positioned within public sector, at Infrastructure Ontario (IO), as the bridge between government and private sectors; utilizing strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and innovation to help resolve a broad range of public sector opportunities.

As a Director, Commercial Projects, your role could span the full lifecycle of a project, from understanding future vision and strategy, and shaping business cases to informing policy decisioning through designing a transaction, to the execution and management of transactions. For these projects, your specific responsibilities could include leading cross-functional, cross-entity teams to achieve project deliverables.

**What You Will Do**:

- Lead client engagements through the lifecycle of a project, including the phases of discovery, solution design, procure and implementation: oversee project set-up and management activities e.g., work/resource planning, budgeting, reporting
- Manage market engagement with industry to validate and refine transaction models
- Succinctly communicate and present ideas, strategies and commercial solutions to government officials and key stakeholders
- Design and implement procurement approaches and evaluation of bids
- Managing commercial and legal negotiations with the private sector
- Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders e.g., agency, Ministry, and Political staff
- Coach and mentor team members
- Oversee and manage external advisors and/or liaise with internal partners, depending on project needs

**What We're Looking For**:

- Experience working on broadband or utility infrastructure files
- Experience leading the development and presentation of complex strategies / transaction structures to senior decision-makers in a compelling, effective, and tailored way
- Experience leading large cross-functional teams to deliver complex and politically-sensitive projects
- Ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems
- Ability to successfully navigate ambiguous situations and align multiple senior stakeholders around a common solution and path forward
- Substantial experience in financial / professional services (e.g., management consulting, engineering, planning, legal services)
- Holds a university degree (Masters and/or professional designation is a plus)
- Financial modelling, service delivery, infrastructure, or real estate transaction experience also a plus
- Experience in working for government clients or with political stakeholders is an asset

The hiring range for this position is $114,700 to $165,000 with a corresponding job level of M3.
