St. Albert Family Resource Centre is a non-profit organization serving families in St. Albert and the surrounding communities since 1982. Our mission is strengthening families through meaningful and educational programming in a safe and supportive environment. We are currently looking for a Part-time Accounting Clerk.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for a wide range of accounting and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization under the direction of the Executive Director and the Operations Manager.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes**:
1. Duties - Financial Accountability
- Process account receivables and account payables.
- Ensure that the cheques are run and sent out weekly.
- Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Receiving and recording cash and cheques.
- Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings.
- Ability to use bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software such as Microsoft excel.
- Prepare and follow up on all invoices as required.
- Maintain the accounting filing system.
- Weekly bank deposits.
- Prepare charitable tax receipts for donors.
- Ensure that all financial documents are stored in a secure location.
- Ensure deadlines are met for financial statements and reports.
- Handle data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
- In coordination with accounting firm and bookkeeper, maintain all files and records for annual audit and tax preparation.
- Take on additional tasks as directed by the Operations Manager and Executive Director.
**Qualifications required**:
- Minimum of 2 years Bookkeeping experience.
- Proficient in working with SAGE.
- Proficient in working with Microsoft 365, Teams, Word and Excel.
- Experience working in the Non-Profit Sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and writing skills.
- Proven organizational ability with the capability to multi-task.
- A proven ability to handle change and transition in a fast paced environment.
- Current Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Intervention Record Check.
**Hours of Work**:
Part-time (15 hours a week)
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm
**Start date**: As soon as possible
**Salary**: $19-21.00 per hour
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
